Our offices here at Whistler Water were abuzz the other week when an article published in the Nature Research Journal contained a report that claims sugar should be controlled in the same way that alcohol is for consumers. We debated this one for quite some time and thought it would be an interesting article to share with a wider audience. The report points to sugar as one of the major culprits behind heart disease, cancer and diabetes but its popularity especially in beverages is on the rise. Why not have a quick read of this article from Postmedia and form your own opinion?

Whistler Water loves to ensure everyone keeps hydrated but thanks to a contest we held at Whole Foods on Cambie Street last week one lucky winner will no longer have to step out of the house to snag a bottle of our glacial spring water. While doing some sampling at Whole Foods on Cambie Street in Vancouver last week our Whistler Water team offered a chance for one lucky customer to win a year’s supply of our water by entering into a draw. The response we received from Whole Foods customers was terrific. A big congratulations to Jasmine Chamberlain of Vancouver who was the lucky winner and she will receive her prize later this week. Keep your eyes out for our Whistler Water team at other retail locations in the future where you can enter to win a year of hydration for you and your family.

Make a date this New Year to broaden your mind. If you haven’t already heard about TED Talks it is a great online site that allows you to easily learn new and exciting topics. TED video lectures bring together some of the world’s most fascinating thinkers and doers, who are challenged to give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes or less. One that really caught our eye recently was given by Dr. Mike Biddle, founder of MPA Polymer Plastics, as he brought to our attention the huge scope of products that can be recycled. Check out this informative video and don’t forget to join the thousands who have signed Whistler Water’s Let The Bottle Live On Pledge in the past year.

We aren’t usually ones for tooting our own horns but Whistler Water was recently recognized internationally as a finalist at the Water Innovation Awards in Brazil. This annual event recognizes innovation in water technology but also environmental and philanthropic work by water companies and we are just a little bit proud to have been nominated this year.
Whistler Water was a finalist in both the Best Ethical/Humanitarian Initiative category, for our work with partner Free The Children, but also in the Best Environmental Sustainability Initiative category for our Let The Bottle Live On Pledge. This was a great global honor for our small company and we invite you to log on and find out more about our pursuits.

A Fraser Health cardiac specialist recently opened our eyes even more to the health benefits that water can provide. We all know H2O is great for us but did you know that there are times of the day where drinking water can be even more beneficial? Whistler Water thought we would share this cool information with you to help you get the most out of your daily water intake.
The cardiac specialist recommends:
- 2 glasses of water after waking up – this helps activate internal organs
- 1 glass of water 30 minutes before a meal – helps digestion and can aid weight loss
- 1 glass of water before taking a bath – lowers blood pressure
- 1 glass of water before going to bed – helps to avoid stroke or heart attack
