Whistler Water is proud to once again be the exclusive water at Liberty Merchant Company’s 16th annual winter fundraising event: Taste B.C. 2010 – A celebration of local food and drink!

The goal of this event is to raise money for the B.C. Children’s Hospital – Oak Tree Clinic, which specializes in providing care and services to sufferers of HIV/AIDS. And of course to encourage public awareness of everything B.C.

Event goers indulged in tastings from some of the finest restaurants, wineries, breweries and cheese purveyors in BC, their contributions also benefited one of the province’s most vital medical institutions. Along with the great food and drink, the attractions included live music, door prizes and a silent auction that features luxury items.

    The Candahar Bar – February 12-28, 2010

Northern Ireland based artist Theo Sims’ Candahar Bar is a detailed recreation of an Irish public house, named for a street in Belfast and based on that city’s now defunct Blackthorn Bar. Part sculpture, part theatrical stage, The Candahar is an artwork that is also a functioning bar, open to the public and staffed in collaboration with two Belfast bartenders who act as unscripted performers. The project fuses the authentic with fantasy, spectacle with stage, and at its heart acts as a catalyst for conversation, debate and dialogue and a pint here or there.

During the sixteen days of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, Presentation House Gallery is staging The Candahar as a locus for social interaction and the host site for an ambitious series of nightly events musical programs, theatrical presentations, performances and dialogues, both scripted and unscripted. Programmed by author Michael Turner, as well as by invited guests, including Winnipeg artist Paul Butler, the Candahar will feature an extensive and diverse series of events by local and international visual artists, musicians, writers and more.

    Dates:
    February 12 to February 28, 2010

    Times:

On January 21st, Whistler Water was proud to support one of the many great events that take place at the Kay Meek Centre in West Vancouver. On this night, Igniting the Potential Within was the event featuring Dr. Sukhi. Hi motivating talk was discussing how everyone has the power, courage, drive and potential to create and change anything in your life. Before Dr. Sukhi, there was another great talk by Paralympian Chris Daw. He described his journey, battles and victories in his life.

race-winner-sebastian-selasWhistler Water was on hand at the 19th Annual BMO Grouse Grind Mountain Run at Grouse Mountain yesterday where West Vancouver local, Sebastian Salas, smashed the existing record with a time of 25:24. The official course record previously held by Michael Simpson was 26:19 set in 2007.

Winning the 19th Annual BMO Grouse Grind Mountain Run in record fashion marks Selas’ second consecutive win in successive years, with the champion besting his winning time from last year by more than two minutes.

We like to think it’s because of the Whistler Water…

Whistler Water is the water of choice for the outdoor concert experience of the summer.

World famous entertainers and local guests will be refreshed with Canada’s Whistler Water at the upcoming premiere benefit concert in West Vancouver on Saturday, September 12, 2009.  The Sarah McLachlan Foundation and the District of West Vancouver will present a unique occasion called “Summer Sessions at Ambleside” as a one-day premiere benefit concert in the idyllic setting.

Whistler Water is a proud sponsor of the event, the first of its kind in West Vancouver, that will feature musical performances by megastar artists Sarah McLachlan, Sheryl Crow and Neil Young.

All proceeds from the concert go to the Sarah McLachlan Foundation. The Foundation’s mandate is to bring music into the lives of young Canadians, through providing free music programs to youth in under-served communities. The impact of participation is profound; building self-esteem, and fostering creativity in young people through the power of music. Ambleside Park in West Vancouver will also provide the perfect location for the late summer concert. Alongside the premiere artists, the all day festival will include performances from an eclectic array of talented Canadian artists.

As British Columbia’s truly local water, Whistler Water is a natural fit for this prominent local event, benefitting home grown music. Summer Sessions at Ambleside will benefit youth in Canadian communities, and provide the audience with a rare and excellent experience. Having Whistler Water there also serves to encourage people to have a healthy lifestyle and celebrate all things local.
